This exam sits where machine learning theory meets practical deployment. It asks what actually changes when you move from prompting to retrieval augmentation to fine-tuning, why a particular quantisation choice affects both latency and quality, and how transformer attention leads to the context length limits you keep running into.
You get 300 questions across six papers of 50, covering the exam's areas: machine learning and neural network fundamentals, transformer architecture and attention mechanisms, large language model behaviour including tokenisation and context windows, prompt engineering techniques, retrieval augmented generation and vector search, fine-tuning approaches including parameter-efficient methods, evaluation and benchmarking, inference optimisation and serving, and responsible AI considerations including bias, hallucination and safety.
Retrieval augmented generation gets real weight, because it's the pattern most teams reach for first and the one most often misunderstood. Chunking strategy, embedding choice, retrieval quality and where the failure actually occurs when an answer is wrong are worked through in scenario form rather than described.
Explanations state the underlying mechanism instead of the vocabulary. Answer order randomises. Sit one paper cold, then drill the areas where the architecture questions caught you.
