AI Project Management: Pilot to Production (GenAI & Agents)

About this course

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Your organisation has seen an impressive AI demo, and now someone has to turn it into a decision. Is it worth doing? Does it work on your own work? What will it cost at normal volume? Will people actually use it? If that someone is you, this course is for you. This AI project management course is for project managers, product owners and team leads who must take a generative AI or agent pilot from the first request to a decision.

This is not a course about training machine-learning models. It is about managing the AI projects that many managers are handed instead: rolling out a ready-made tool, switching on a vendor's AI feature, connecting an assistant to company documents, or letting an agent take actions. You follow one project from the first request to a go, fix or stop decision that a steering committee can act on.

What you will practise

Naming the project type first. Five types of AI project need different teams, timelines, budgets and controls, so the type shapes the whole plan.

Producing evidence that non-technical people can trust. You build a test set from real work, agree what "good enough" means before anyone sees a result, and score the answers rather than how fluent they sound.

Controlling the cost of usage-priced AI. You estimate the cost of each useful result, including repeated attempts and human review, and set budgets that trigger a named action.

Deciding instead of extending. You write the decision rules before the pilot starts and end with go, fix or stop, where every fix has an owner, a deadline and a pass mark.

Making adoption and agents part of the project. You plan for the people who never asked for the tool, and you give agents approval points and limits.
